Opelika Chamber of Commerce

The Opelika Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary association whose membership is comprised of companies, civic leaders, and individual business people. The association is located in Opelika, Alabama. Auburn University’s students from the Public Relations Research course partnered with the Opelika Chamber of Chambers to conduct research on the satisfaction of their members with chamber events.

Purpose of the Research

The purpose of the research was to understand how satisfied the Opelika Chamber of Commerce members are with chamber events. The questions asked in the survey were meant to answer questions concerning how the chamber can enhance their events for members. These changes in member events will be geared toward the answers given by the chamber members who participated in the survey.

Method

Each student was required to come up with their own survey questions, about 15 questions each, and then students compiled and condensed the most effective questions from everyone. The types of questions used in the survey were: multiple choice, close-ended, open-ended, Likert-type scale, semantic differential, rating, inventory, demographic and rating questions.
